HOW DO YOU KNOW?

How Do You Know?
How do you know?

Well, let's rephrase that.  How do you recognize and trust what the right answer is? Because we always have access to this knowledge. Always.
Getting into an intuitive state of listening is the first step, of course, but our logic really wants to play as well, doesn’t it?

I’ve found one way to blend logic with intuition is to simply flip a coin. Heads the answer is ‘YES’, tails the answer is ‘NO’.

I’m having a little giggle now, as I imagine your reaction to this solution. ‘Come on Zan, that’s just asking chance to be in charge’. Well, yes, sort of. Bear with me and follow this to the end.

You have a major decision to make. You’ve applied all your logic to it, and you still can’t make a decision. So what I want you to do is narrow it down to 2 choices, then before you flip a coin assign heads to one choice and tails to the other choice. Go ahead, flip that coin. Here’s where intuition comes into the process – so pay attention.

Don’t worry, your body will tell you the right choice, not the coin.

Notice your first thought or feeling when the coin tells you to do choice #1 – THAT is the information you follow – the feelings in your body. If the coin came up Do Choice 1 and your response is dread or disappointment (and you feel it in your body somewhere – usually the gut) – then what that tells you is your better choice would be #2. Throw the coin out and follow your gut.

Let’s play this out with a scenario.

You have a choice to stay in your current job or accept a new job that as just been offered to you. Both have their pluses and minuses (you know this because you’ve done your due diligence and wrote out your Pros and Cons list), and you still can’t decide. You really can’t decide, an it’s making your head spin. Your logic is pretty attached to one job over the other, but both would be good.

So now you pick up your coin, you say heads I stay where I’m at and tails I take the new job. You flip – viola it’s heads – you immediately feel let down and have an inner groan, a disappointed feeling inside.

THAT’S YOUR ANSWER

Not what the coin says, but your reaction to what the coin says. Somewhere in your Higher Self, you know that taking the new job will be in your highest good. Trust that.

It’s never the advice (from any source); it’s always your reaction to the advice. Spirit is always talking to you, are you listening?
